Workshop teacher and company director

Andrew has been obsessed for many years with trying to ensure that primary children have the best possible experience of learning science.

Formally a county science adviser and a primary teacher, Andrew has had years to perfect the activities and teaching/learning methods required for all children to excel.

Andrew also realises how important it is for the children to enjoy their science. Every workshop is delivered with a large smattering of humour and energy!

Qualifications/Teaching experience

  • 10 years as a primary teacher

  • 6 years as a county adviser for primary science

  • 14 years as a manager of an environmental education centre/science adviser/workshop teacher

  • A science degree

  • A master degree in education

  • A PGCE in primary education

  • Recognised facilitator for STEM

Achievements

Trainer/author/creator

  • Taught tens of thousands of primary children

  • Advised thousands of primary teaching staff on how to teach science better

  • Designed and delivered hundreds of training courses for primary teachers; face-to-face and online

  • Written 3 editions of the Kent Scheme of Work for Primary Science - used in more than 2,500 primary schools worldwide

  • Developed a programme for and managed an environmental education centre that provided incredible learning experiences for thousands of children.

  • Developed and taught a range of science workshops that have benefitted dozens of schools and thousands of children.
